Ron Paul article from elusivetruth

From the blog by Charles R Lewis

Maybe this will wake up some among the Christian Right on the Ron Paul ruse.  Did you know that Ron Paul:

- Has a 67% rating on civil rights by the ACLU?
Your comments on Ron Paul come when Ron Paul is getting more attention in the upcoming election. ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox and all the other media outlets are either attacking DR. Paul or ignoring him. Seems I find you people in the same camp as these communists!

I find your website to be misleading and deceptive. I can take anything out on context and make even the most conservative person out to be Joseph Stalin or Mao.

Your article makes some ignorant suppositions about how the ACLU and other Marxist organizations give Ron Paul a 67% approval rating. What you do not state is that he is 67% on civil rights issues. I don't like the word civil rights but would say that these rights given to us by GOD are supported by Ron Paul. On other issues, Ron Paul does not agree with the ACLU at all.

Here is part of an article on the ACLU website:
Paul scores 67% by the ACLU on civil rights issues

* The mission of the ACLU is to preserve protections and guarantees America’s original civic values - the Constitution and the Bill of Rights: Your First Amendment rights-freedom of speech, association and assembly. Freedom of the press, and freedom of religion supported by the strict separation of church and state.
* Your right to equal protection under the law - equal treatment regardless of race, sex, religion or national origin.
* Your right to due process - fair treatment by the government whenever the loss of your liberty or property is at stake.Your right to privacy - freedom from unwarranted government intrusion into your personal and private affairs.

So far I cannot disagree with much on this except for their idea of separation of church and state. Notice they don't mention your right to keep and bear arms, which Dr. Paul supports.

IF the ACLU is for these issues, and so is Ron Paul, then great. So am I. If you feel that these issues should disqualify Ron Paul, then you are the enemy of the Constitution.

FROM YOUR BLOG:
- Voted FOR allowing physician-assisted suicide?
- Voted AGAINST the one-man, one-woman marriage amendment?
- Favors gays in the military?
- Favors legalized marijuana?
- Favors legalized prostitution?
Dr. Paul did not vote for anything. He did vote to not get the federal government involved in things it should not be involved in. Getting the federal government out of our lives is the thing we should be striving for and that is what Dr. Paul seems to be about.

From your blog:
- Voted against school prayer (http://www.gopusa.com/theloft/?p=509):?
- In answer to a question about pharmacists morally opposed to selling the abortion pill, said that should be between the given pharmacist and his boss?
- Voted to allow American flag desecration?
He did not vote against school prayer. He voted against the federal government mandating anything about education. He did vote to keep the federal government out of our lives.

Why would the federal government be involved in the selling or not selling of the abortion pills?  It should be up to the states to decide. I am against abortion and feel that a local approach is a better way to fight abortion. Fight it by changing minds, not by mandating anything.

Flag desecration. Can you legislate how someone should feel about a flag? Should the government put into the constitution every little minutia about our lives in to the constitution? In case you don't know, which seems to be the case, the constitution was written to put limits on the government, not on the people. It has been a recent event that constitutional issues were put upon controlling people and not government.

From your blog:
- Far from just not wanting to send troops to aid our allies, recently stated that he would not even sell them weapons, leaving it crystal clear that anyone friendly to America will be thrown to the communist/islamofascist wolves?

How many more wars do we need to have to finally decide that war only makes money for certain people. How many undeclared wars, which are nothing more than New World Order nation building, are we going to have to lose before we learn that it just does not work? How many US soldiers are going to have to die to support this nation building?

How many times have we heard about US weapons being used by our enemies? Iran is looking for parts for US tomcats. We are the largest seller of weapons in the world.
We have sold to anyone with money. Want to bet that Saudi weaponry bought from the US will fall into the hands of Islamic radicals? Do we really want to keep selling death to the rest of the world?  I want a strong military. I do not want the rest of the world to have what we have. But how much more lethal do we have to be? What if the government decides to use all this technology against the American people? Why is it that George Bush keeps adding executive orders that take away our freedoms in case of insurrection? What are they going to do that makes them afraid?

I have heard all the lies in the past about how American friends have been tossed to the enemy. If history is any indicator, everybody we have ever gone to war against has become friends. In the recent past, we were told that if Vietnam fell, we would see communism take over all of southeast Asia. It did not. We are now trading partners with Vietnam. The Russians were our ally in world war II. After the war, we became enemies. Ah , the cold war. Nice way for many to make a lot of money and keep the economy rolling despite it being raped by the Federal Reserve.

If any country cannot stand up for itself and fight for itself for freedom, then they do not deserve it. It is not up to us constitutionally to fight for everyone else. We are not supposed to be the policeman of the world. We have bigger problems here in the US.
We have a president that is going to Canada at the end of August 2007 to give away our country to the American Economic Union. We have

From Your blog:
- Recently vowed to abandon freedom-loving staunch American ally Taiwan to America's greatest enemy, the Red Chinese?
Oh you mean the country that the US buys more junk from than any other?  Oh, you mean the country that we have built up and sold missile secrets to? Oh I guess we have sort of shot ourselves in the foot on that one. A recent article states that the Chinese are threatening to destroy the US economy by dumping dollars. Great.
Dr. Paul has stated that if we are to go to war with China over Taiwan, then we must have congress vote for war. We must have the congress vote to drop nukes on China if that is what the American people want to do.

From your blog:
- Has made it clear that not only does he consider America the evil force in Iraq (and the islamofascist mass-murdering terrorists, therefore, our innocent victims), but also deems America to have been the evil force in Vietnam (and the communist mass-murdering Christian persecuting Vietcong, therefore, our innocent victims)?
Dr. Paul did no such thing. This is a deceit that must stop here. All Dr. Paul did was point out that the 9/11 commission, the CIA and the FBI have stated in documents that the US did support Saddam Hussein, that the US involvement in the area has brought about the likes of Iran, the problems in Iraq , Syria and all the other problem areas in the world.

Vietnam. Oh you mean the war that Kennedy wanted to stop but was killed because  he wanted to end it? Oh you mean the Vietnam war that Johnson kept telling us would keep the rest of the world safe for democracy?

If we are to go to war against Christian persecuting nations, what about Israel that does not allow Christian missionaries.
Here is a little snippet of an article about that:
By Michael Collins Piper

Anti-Christian forces led by a wide-ranging group of high-ranking Israeli
officials won a major victory on March 30. Representatives of 50 different
international Christian evangelical groups entered into what was described
as an ''unprecedented'' joint statement promising not to carry out Christian
missionary work in Israel.

In return, Israeli lawmaker Nissim Zvili said that he would drop his
sponsorship of a proposed measure before the Israeli parliament [widely
supported among various political factions in Israel] that would outlaw any
effort to teach or propagate Christian doctrine in Israel. Under Zvili's
highly popular proposal, any Christian missionary found guilty of violating
the law would be sent to prison for one year. Zvili hailed the Christian
surrender, saying; ''This is better than a law. This is a very big
accomplishment.''

The Christian groups that surrendered to Israeli pressure, and thereby
abandoned their long-standing practice of proselytizing the Christian faith,
issued a statement saying that they rejoice in the presence of the Jewish
people in this country of their ancestors and agreed to avoid activities
which alienate Jews in Israel from their tradition and community.
Why don't we go to war with Saudi Arabia which punishes Christians and does not allow US soldiers to have bibles.

From your blog:
- Uses rhetoric reserved for most of the last 100 years for the communist left to describe America as guilty of the very sins of that communist left ("military-industrial complex," "imperialism")?
I did not know that US president Dwight David Eisenhower was a communist?
I quote:
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.
Dwight D. Eisenhower

Recently criticized the weapons systems that have been the only thing that have kept America free - criticized them with a fervor worthy of a John Kerry?

Ron Paul, Darling of the Web Military?

Check out these numbers. Ron Paul has received more donations money from employees of the Armed Services than any other GOP candidate in the 2008 race. It's really only a two-way race between the Libertarian Paul and the war hero McCain, who may have been hurt by the fact that he wants to keep servicemen and women in Iraq until everyone is dead, American, Iraqi, and otherwise.

Come to think of it, Ron Paul's call for America to stop "policing the world" might have unique appeal to our country's soldiers overseas. Anyway, here are the numbers.

Cand.: TOTAL [ARMY] [NAVY] [AF] [VETERAN]
Paul: 23,465 [6,975] [6,765] [4,650] [5,075]
McCain: 15,825 [6925] [6305] [1795] [800]
Romney: 3,551 [2,051] [0] [1500] [0]
Rudy: 2,320 [1,450] [370] [250] [250]
Hunter: 1000 [0] [1000] [0]
Huckabee: 750 [250] [0] [500]
Tancredo: 350 [350] [0] [0]
Brownback: 71 [71] [0] [0]
Thompson: 0 [0] [0] [0]

Now, from what I can gather, to be included in these stats a donor had to only put the words "Army," "Navy," "veteran," or what have you in their "employer" field when submitting a contribution. So these aren't the most exact numbers. But interesting nonetheless.

Dr. Paul's comments on defense spending:

CONGRESSMAN PAUL: I think the military serves as a distraction. You don't become wealthier by building bombs rather than houses. You could argue that people are employed. Unemployment went down in Word War II, but the people didn't necessarily feel wealthier. Not only did they have a shortage of spending funds, they also had rationing going on. Employment was fine. People had to build tanks and build airplanes. People were drafted and millions of people were serving. But they were not doing anything to enhance the economy. I would argue the case that maybe the classical symptoms of a depression with people unemployed aren't there, but economic benefit cannot happen except for people who make war profits. The companies that build the airplanes did well, but the country, as a whole, cannot become wealthier by consuming their wealth and their energy by putting it into weapons and killing. There is no way a country can get wealthier in that manner.

Your blog stated:

- In a recent You-Tube appearance, posited that once he fixed America, open borders would be just fine (for much of his career, Paul opposed the very existence of the Border Patrol)?

Dr. Paul was making a statement that once the issue of illegal aliens was settled. by no amnesty and taking America off the welfare state, illegal aliens would not be an issue. They would stop coming here illegally.
Open borders would not be a problem because people would not want to come here illegally.

In your blog you stated:
Joseph Farah, Pastor Ernie Sanders, and I must not remain among the very few within the "enlightened right" (as opposed to what others among us mistakenly call "neocons") who see through the Ron Paul dog and pony show.  Please join us before it is too late for our country - and God's.
In your comment above you stated:

I must not remain among the very few within the "enlightened right"  who see through the Ron Paul dog and pony show.

So you are going to get out of the group who sees through the show? I don't understand your comment.

Do you folks really feel that you know more than any other people? Your condecending attitude to those who disagree with you and to bring GOD into this by saying that if Ron Paul is elected GOD will do this or that is laughable. God does not care who is president. GOD is going to be always in control.

We have always been told that if we don't do this our way, it may be too late. The Global warming people are doing this now. Please stop using the tactics of the communists. We survived Clinton and we will survive Bush. Just barely.

Dog and pony show? How about the Tancredo dog and pony show with no real show. Who is talking about Tom Tancredo? Anyone? How much money does he have donated to his campaign? HOw much support does he have?

Neocons are what they call themselves. They coined the phrase. Neocons are the likes of Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Scooter Libby, George W Bush and a few others. They are a product of their own idea of PNAC, the project for a new American Century that in their own document state that a Pearl Harbor event would be needed to bring forth their agenda. Welcome to 9/11.

I believe you folks have been deceived. I believe that you folks want war because it will bring us closer to the last battle.  Only GOD can decide what is going to be, not you or I. All I can do is point out your errors in your argument against Ron Paul and let you know that I feel that even though Tom Tancredo is a fine candidate, he is not the answer to what ails the USA. Tom Tancredo is an also ran second rate candidate. Dr. Hugh Court I have never heard of. He has not a chance to be elected.

Your attacks on Ales Jones is also telling. Your statements on the air (What's RIght, What's Left, August 7, 2007) that Alex is part of the New World Order and taking advantage of people is strange in that he has come out against it and has made documentary films that he often gives away in order to spread the word. I do not take Alex at his word.  I do check into what he says once in a while. So far I cannot say that he has told lies. He did predict 9/11 and did say that the government would blame Osma been forgotten. He has been right so many times that I would say that there is some doubt on you by your attacks in this regard.

RON PAUL 2008
Get rid of the IRS and the FED. No more Clintons or Bushes in the white house. No more CFR new world order people.  Get us back to constitutional money and constitutional government. Give us a smaller federal government.  Only Ron Paul has made those commitments.

Only Ron Paul is who I will be voting for.
